N.C. 'Cuegrass Festival
Raleigh, N.C.

'Cuegrass is a single-day festival in downtown Raleigh sponsored by The Pit, an upscale barbecue restaurant. Mostly, because it is held on a couple of blocks in front of the restaurant, 'Cuegrass is crowded.

Southern Culture on the Skids, led by Rick Miller,
headlined the 2010 'Cuegrass.

Ed Mitchell, pit master and the public face of The Pit, said at the 2010 festival – the second one – that the plan for the following year was to move to Fayetteville Street, which has a plaza for festivals and more room overall. But it was back in the Warehouse District for 2011.

Mitchell also said late in the afternoon that 'Cuegrass had cooked up 16 200-pound hogs. The festival, a fundraiser for family farms, sold barbecue and beef brisket sandwiches, plus beer and sodas.
